Welcome to the path of returning home.
Welcome to the path of returning home.
Are you living with the weight of unresolved trauma, chronic emotional overwhelm, or a quiet sense of disconnection. From parts of yourself, from meaning, from life as you sense it could be?
I'm Tamara Coughlan, a psychotherapist and occupational therapist based in Newcastle, NSW. My work is rooted in integrative, psychodynamic and somatic psychotherapy, and draws on the psychospiritual — the understanding that healing is not only psychological, but involves the deeper layers of the body, heart, consciousness, and what it means to be fully human.
I work with people who sense that as we as humans aren't just something to be fixed or managed. People who are ready not just to cope, but to come home.

Drawing on multiple modalities, I support you to process past trauma, regulate your nervous system, and find your way back to yourself. Sessions are relational, trauma-informed, and deeply individual.
For those navigating psychedelic experiences or non-ordinary states of consciousness, I offer preparation and integration support — helping you make meaning from what arose and bring it into grounded, daily life.
Yoga, silent retreats, and meditation immersions — sacred spaces to return to the body and heart. Find upcoming retreats and courses here.
Therapy that integrates mind, body and heart
Welcome, I’m Tamara Coughlan, a psychotherapist dedicated to creating a therapeutic relationship that supports of psychological healing, self-awareness, and transformation. My work integrates psychotherapy, somatic therapy, and occupational therapy to support trauma recovery, emotional balance, and spiritual exploration.
Therapy is not about fixing something broken. It is a process of understanding yourself more fully and how your history lives in your body, how your patterns formed, and what becomes possible when that changes. My approach bridges science and spirituality, weaving together body-based therapy, meditation, and deep psychological inquiry.

How would it feel to come back home?
What does it mean to come home to yourself? My work as a psychotherapist and occupational therapist is about more than symptom relief. It is about recovering a relationship with your own inner life...your body, your history, your patterns, your longing. If you are seeking a therapist who holds both clinical skills and genuine depth, I invite you to begin here.
